Last year Las Vegas had 35.8 million visitors, up 6% from 1999. Visitors to Las Vegas have increased an average 5.2% over the past decade.

In 1996 Las Vegas had 99,000 hotel rooms. Today it has 124,000 with another 6,300 due to be completed through 2002.

All the major international and national hotel chains are represented in Las Vegas including Hilton, Holiday Inn, Ramada, Quality Hotels, Super 8 Motels, Sheraton Hotels, Howard Johnsons, Marriott Hotels, Embassy Suites, EconoLodge, Crowne Plaza, Comfort Inns and Four Seasons Hotels.

Aside from the hotels, resorts and casinos, the city is fast becoming one of the convention capitals of the country with nearly 4 million people attending conventions in Las Vegas in 2000.
